(1) Megan Zaniewski

Megan is a 3D embroidery and thread-painting artist who creates sculptural works using fiber and other materials. Here is a link to her Etsy store.

(2) Heidi Becker

Heidi is a spoken-word poet, often focusing on feminist topics.

(3) Katie Makkai

Heidi Becker's popularity on Instagram made me think of all the poetry slam videos I used to watch with my friend Gabby in sophomore year in college. I can't remember most of them, but I think Katie Makkai's poem "Pretty" was one of the highlights.

(4) Yinka Shonibare

Yinka Shonibare is a multi-medium artist who explores cultural identity, colonialism, and globalization. While likely most known for his patterned sculptures, his clothing pieces are fascinating and like sculptures themselves.

(5) Gaston Bussière

I recently found The Blonde Yseult online and was captivated by the style and colors. Gaston Bussière (1862-1929) was a French symbolist painter and illustrator who mainly painted classic tales such as Tristan and Isolde. He illustrated work by Balzac, Flaubert, and Oscar Wilde.
